February 13, 200521 yr Both compasses ,mag and dir, are now off by 120 degrees. Shift+z confirms these readings. I must have done something to botch these settings. Please don't tell me to reload FS9 as I have 30 MB in the sim. Save me from another disaterous flight. rnails
February 14, 200521 yr Check to see if it ocours in all areas of the world, if it does not it may be a bad AFCAD or Scenery.. Also check to see if Gyro drift is checked in the aircraft realism settings.Regards,Roman(KGRB) FS RTWR SHRS F-111 JoinFS Little Navmap
February 14, 200521 yr Roman, I tried both suggestions but no luck. Both compasses still show -120 degrees from true direction. I first noticed the problem when using Traffic View by Mostrealisticai when the aircraft were landing at KMCO on RW 36 and RW35 and the headings were showing 240 degrees. I deleted the program to see if that was the problem but again no luck. rnails(KTIX)
February 14, 200521 yr This error is the signature of installing an AFCAD2 file designed for FS2002 into FS9... I've made some suggestions for finding these in prior posts - search for posts by me, netboyz, in this forum. Check the readmes of recently installed sceneries to see if they specify FS9 (some FS2002 will work anyway, others won't). Try disabling recently installed sceneries, including AF2 files in Addon Sceneryscenery. Use a binary search among them if necessary (disable half; if no compass error, disable other half. Of the half with the error, disable half, if no error disable other half... etc until you narrow it down to the culprit). Hope this helps. Dick Bixler
February 14, 200521 yr Richard Bixler, Thank you for the solution to my compass problem. Fortunately I just deleted the last two afcads and did not have to do the binary search on 1572 afcads. Oddly enough these two files came from a respected source and stated they were designed for fs9. Grateful, Ralph(aka rnails)at KTIX
