  1. Google can be your friend, 2 seconds... https://www.google.com/search?q=US+FAA+climb+gradient+&oq=US+FAA+climb+gradient +200 ft/nm Additional info here.
  2. Have never used it, not my thing. Also, unsure about helo handling. Free 👍
  3. This is FSX boxed, should be similar. Just a hunch, perhaps try starting FS with admin privileges : Right click .exe --> properties --> compatibility tab --> change settings for all users --> check - run as administrator. The xml file that hold the assignments are in C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\FSX\Controls - maybe something happened to your system, unbeknownst to you, that prevents writing back to the control xml file.
  4. Another excellent flight Jeff, Thanks! A busy day! Quick turnarounds, pushing buttons on the FMC & pre-flight checks. Still was able to find some time to press the shutter button.. You can see them here.
  5. For today's flight. Don't know why, but the supplied .pdf for SkyVector links keeps locking up on my system. ( too many updates i presume - ha ) Here is an easy to use route right on SkyVector. Just click on the airport waypoint --> hover over the proper waypoint --> click on procedure wanted --> popped up & zoomable T minus 1 hour... Ready yet? 😉
  6. Flew this on the friday evening slot using FSX. It was very good! ATC was as professional as the real thing, indiscernible compared to scanner monitoring during the real event. The included scenery was a little tough on my old rig - oh well. Had 2 pilotedge network disconnects and while it was easy enough, and quick, to reconnect, one was at a very bad time.. Right downwind, almost on base, to 27 with traffic in front & behind me at 1/2 mile. On the reconnect my aft traffic was on my tail -- ATC took care of the situation brilliantly! All in all -- AWESOME!
  7. Having the same problem, GTX 1070 8GB, 1200 watt corsair supply, 2 monitors, Win 7 pro. Running anything or nothing at all.. Not real bad as it happens only 2 to 3 times per week with computer use @~7 hours per day. It's like the card just turns off. -or- Remember reading a while ago ( don't remember the specifics ) that the drivers have a built in failure recovery on driver error. It seems like it is trying to do this but doesn't fully finish. Also, when this happens my system seems to continue to run. This has been working for me - When it happens, wait about 15 seconds, CTRL-ALT-DEL until a logon screen ( with the other options) shows, not a hard shutdown, log back on. Voila! Working again. I am thinking the driver recovery is killing explorer.exe and the re-logon will get it back running again.
  8. It may not ever work.. A lot of advanced aircraft IE QW have "talk back" from the visual model to the gauge system & vice versa. Taking 1 out of the equation results in an inoperative aircraft.
  9. A few shots from yesterday's flight - Thanks Jeff! https://www.dropbox.com/sh/54geoqc0n7j8yh5/AADWluBdNATfrj-WW8WlNYYXa?dl=0
  10. Woah! Now this is a multiplayer session! https://www.pilotedge.net/pages/simventure
  11. Ready to go for this one, just need a little help. Does anyone know how to fly the Maddog X ? 😂 It will be a busy day in the cockpit for sure! Looking forward to it. ✔ Award winning extra sharp cheddar cheese is loaded ✔ Huge .BMPs converted to 1024 .DDS's ✔ AI Animation spoof for the Q400 is active ✔ Alternate soundAI
  12. Alice's Restaurant Massacree - Arlo Guthrie He stopped me right there and said, "kid, have you ever been to a Saturday multiplayer session?" And I proceeded to tell him the story of the sixty-seven 8 x 10 colored glossy pictures with the circles and arrows and a paragraph on the back of each one. 😂 The evidence is in public domain and you may view it here. Gunter... Excellent flight! 👍 Thank you.
  13. OK.. cool, not in FSX.. yet.... currently "rebuilding scenery indexes" 👍😎 Thanks! FWIW -- for a grass strip with 2 sheds it is very well done!
  14. La Tour-sur-Orb (LFNX) in FSX just isn't there. I even downloaded the P3D version of Occitania from the site & there are no references to LFNX or La Tour-sur-Orb in any bgl. Could someone fire up LNM and check where this bgl comes from? I did find a file that will put "something" there. Would rather have the same thing but if not, oh well.. Thanks
  15. Hey Mike & others, Another one for the books - Great flight! Whittled 111 screenies down to 79, shows how good it really was )) You may take a peek here --> https://www.dropbox.com/sh/8qo78a1esmeil8b/AABqwlZoAqBUhQen42RU-MIia?dl=0 Y'all have a great week, Stay Healthy!
  16. Another excellent paint Ron! 1 question... Can the RV-7 do this? 😂
  17. I have the aircraft too.. Tried the paint kit installer --> no go. A little "deep" investigation ( perfect for waking up with the coffee - heh.. ) found that the installer is not finding a certain registry key on the system. Here are the steps to get the installer going. (not going to upload the files as they are copyrighted) 1) Copy the following code below into an empty notepad file. (plain text editor!) Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00 [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\RealAir Simulations\Spitfire 2008] 2) Save the file as you wish but with the file suffix of .reg example: spit_painkit.reg 3) Double click on the file. If Windows barks at you for permissions / "are you sure you want to continue?" etc.. click yes / allow etc... 4) Run the installer - done.
  18. That is the problem, if you get too far back the mouse rectangles become inactive.. Don't remember if there is a reset eyepoint command available. If there is, use it. Otherwise use the built in camera views to move around the cockpit.
  19. Jeff, Thanks for the excellent flight! ( again - heh 😂 ) An awesome revisit of a place worth going to more often. 👍 Photos just came back from K-Mart developing, of course on eco-friendly, 99% recycled glossy paper 😂 You can see the images here if wanted ⏩ https://www.dropbox.com/sh/5sjw1y8lhoqh8si/AACwwos7rMX_r9_yLOZpWgrqa?dl=0 Have a great week!
  20. HI36, TAU... Does this field show for you? According to LNM there is supposed to be a soft runway, 2710x100 feet, located due south of the airfield center I have tried everything, re downloaded/installed from ORBX, AEC on/of, meshes on/off, no other scenery active except ORBX, pulling hair etc.. All I have is trees and autogen, doesn't look like anything custom in the area. If you look at Google Earth, there is an airfield placement, but if you look closely it is all trees too. "Nada ting" there.. ? Although.. There is a very narrow road (wings will hit trees) to land on to the north of the airfield center - use that?
  21. For real? If so, really missed out on the announcement of such an awesome endeavour! Once again Ron, Da Vinci is "in the house"! 👍
  22. AirEd (free) with the updated .ini file should still work properly. Old, but trusty. https://www.aero.sors.fr/fsairfile.html
  23. I don't own it myself.. but.. If there was an accidental inclusion in the aircraft.cfg of --> [autopilot] autopilot_available=1 and regardless if there is an autopilot gauge in the cockpit or not, a saved flight with the AP on or an accidental keypress of "Z" can cause trim runaway, which sounds like exactly what is happening. IE no control of pitch. EDIT - Downloaded the demo & installed.. Guess what? [autopilot] autopilot_available= 1 That will cause a world of hurt with no AP installed in the panel and the aircraft is loaded from a saved flight where a different aircraft is used in the flight and then switched to the 152. Note -- This is the only way it will happen as default_bank_mode & default_pitch_mode are both set to 0 (none). The fix so there will be no more occurences, in any situation? [autopilot] autopilot_available= 0
