News Item: There is a new release 3.0 of Apollosoftware GlobalXplorer

http://www.apollosoftware.com/ADefault.aspx

I have been using version 2.0, which has been nice but was a bit expensive compared to, face it, PlanG. The new version 3.0 (being available for FSX/Prepar3d1+2/X-Plane) has a nice killer feature called "Nearest". It shows info plus the way to the nearest airport in the moving map and displays an airport diagram (including taxiways, gates etc.) of this airport. This really helps for taxiing. Plus, it can be run in fullscreen on a second monitor besides the simulator in fullscreen on the first one (or, alternatively, over the network using Simconnect). Even running locally it's amazingly resource-effective.

It's not quite cheap, however, there are upgrades for existing customers and there is a Demo available. Maybe you'll publish a note. And, no, I am in no way related to Apollosoftware nor do I get shares for advertising J.

Kind regards, Michael
