BA " World " tails and others

Featured Replies

Series of tails of the AirbusX Extended . First is G-BRSA which was destined to be the first of 10 aircraft for British Caledonian ( G-BRSA thru G-BRSJ ) and was painted in BCal livery but was instead taken over by British Airways and

repainted in the Landor livery and re registered G-BUSB thru G-BUSK . All 10 aircraft from the original BCal order flew until recently in BA colours with the CFM powerplant ( the rest of the Airbus fleet are IAE powered )  and served for

more than 20 years . Several ( if not all ) of these were given " World " tails and are shown here below . Others may follow ( no promises ) , the main difficulty is finding pictures with a high ( enough ) resolution showing both sides

and rear / underside  as most photo's from this era ( late 80's - early 90's ) are either scanned from slides or poor quality to begin with , not surprising as this was long before " digital " cameras were invented . Enlarging isn't an

option as everything becomes pixelated .

British Airways G-BUSC c/n 008 Sydney 2000 livery . The font used in " Teaming ..." was unable to identify and had to be handdrawn ( still working on it ) .
