Anyone using the updated Weather Maker?

Featured Replies

I installed the updated version yesterday and messed around with it. They have added a bit of documentation now. You still can't move or delete placed weather features so if you accidently misplace a feature you have to start over. Still takes several minutes to load a weather scape. Also I constantly got excessively low visiblity of around 10 miles when trying to create some nice VFR weather. Any ideas what might cause this?Anyone else running the new version and what did you think about it?

The visibility is computed off the difference between your temperature and dewpoints that you select for the Global Weather Scape. The closer together the more likely your visibility will go below 10nm.Weather Scapes will take longer to load, because basically, Weather Maker Pro has to completely simulate the entire atmosphere for a region based upon the parameters you select, plus load all the features listed on a map. Basically it should only take less than 5 minutes to load. It is much more complex then just loading metar and taf data.In regards to the deleting a placed weather feature. There are somethings you can enhance and some you can't. Placing a weather feature on a map is using a complex formula to detect the actual Latitude and Longtitude on top of calling GDI functions in Windows to draw that feature. To undo this individual feature becomes even more complex. For now it will have to remain. If you have any additional questions you can contact me at: [email protected].
