Really stuck on VNAV, tried every way but which & can't get anything to work.

 

eg Trying to set up a descent from VNY to FIM ie one vor to another. Need an idiots guide that this idiot can understand.  Any help appreciated.

Ok, well bear in mind Josh said they don't use it too much as it's often easier just to use VS and do the sums in your head. We did use it in the final flight however and its use was demonstrated. Have you watched the section on it in the video?

Cheers, not watched last flight yet, will watch tomorrow.

Did you have a look at the <detailed tutorial flight> which you can download from majesticsoftware.com/mjc8q400? This is a very good, albeit basic tutorial flight from Toronto to Newark. VNAV is explained on page 49.
