Just wanted to say thank you...
If there are still people pondering over whether or not to purchase the Q400 First Officer training let there be no doubt it is quality, quality, quality! Thanks to Ben & Josh for a most enjoyable experience. I've still got a lot to learn but thanks to Josh I'm getting there slowly but surely. Thanks again

Airline2Sim Q400 First Officer Training Update + PMDG 777 Cadet Program *UPDATED Dec 15*
"It does seem to me that a future "Airline2Sim Flying Club" would fit nicely into the mix especially as the founder of DigitalThemePark DTP is a beta tester for the Majestic Q400" Another thought is that having a common place for A2S Q400 cadets to gravitate towards, to fly together, talk to each other on line & feed of each others experiences etc would definitely be beneficial. I know, from experience, as I was stuck on an aspect of VNAV & a guy from Australia who I was flying the Birmingham to Guernsey leg with helped me out in no time at all. As I said previously the founder of DTP has close links with the aircraft as you can see from this informative video, "Majestic Q400 Post Release Party" was hosted by DTP with speakers from Horizon Airlines https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B5eJXY1WhwM

Airline2Sim Q400 First Officer Training Update + PMDG 777 Cadet Program *UPDATED Dec 15*
Ben, great idea, I know a lot of people are looking forward to Q400 Pro & the shared cockpit facility, not least because when it all goes wrong you can blame the guy in the right hand seat Would you expand a bit more on this ".......we'll look at setting up an Airline2Sim shared cockpit flying club......." I ask because a lot of fsx pilots, worldwide, already fly online with DigitalThemePark (DTP) using their two servers, one set to UTC & the other UTC-8 achieving daylight pretty much wherever you may want to fly. DTP also provide there own Teamspeak facility with dedicated channels for numerous flying clubs. It does seem to me that a future "Airline2Sim Flying Club" would fit nicely into the mix especially as the founder of DTP is a beta tester for the Majestic Q400. Further information available if required

I don't think anyone has mentioned TCAS. Some in depth input would be nice, both for people new to TCAS [me] & for the more experienced.

OAT
I know it must be there somewhere. :( Where do I find the OAT reading? Thanks in advance

Nice tip Trev. I subscribe to the "keep it simple stupid" school of thought.

Dash 8 to Southern California
My target is to soon start flying online using PilotEdge in the Socal area of the states. Anything for a challenge! I would like to use the Flybe livery & was wondering if Josh could throw any light on Flybe callsigns, do they have a generic prefix such as BA with Speedbird etc For those not familiar with PilotEdge it is often described as Vatsim with brass knobs ie all positions in the Socal area manned so no gaps in the radio coverage & very professional.

Rule of thumb approach speeds
Thanks Eric that gives me something that I can work with. I'll refer to it as "Eric's SOP"

VNAV
Cheers, not watched last flight yet, will watch tomorrow.

Rule of thumb approach speeds
Further to my post #3 the loss of GS at about 300ft has been corrected in the latest mjc Q400 patch 1.009 + NavSources: Fixed the Glideslope disappearing during the operation on the runways equipped with 2 sided ILSs operating on the same frequency

Rule of thumb approach speeds
Thanks - Aurasim is neat tool. It was the approach speed above the Vref that I'm finding a bit hit or miss. If I'm not careful when I disconnect the A/P at 500ft the a/c just levels at about 300ft unless you give it some hefty nose down help

Rule of thumb approach speeds
I'd be interested to hear more on the topic of calculating approach speeds. Nil wind / gusting wind etc & also how this is effected by landing weight etc Is there a simple rule to follow?

rudder trim lesson?
Yes some info on this would be welcome. I seem to have heard somewhere that right rudder trim, about +3, should be set for take off.

Has anyone purchased yet?
In answer to the original post "Has anyone bought it?" Yes & worth every penny / cent / .euro!

Possible Conflict With Majestic Q400?
Not to sure why this is happening but whenever I use Opus and the Q400 I get a juddering/flickering image (it's not confined to when wx is updating, which was my original thought) Turn Opus off - juddering stops - Opus On & juddering starts. Net result I have to load the wx with Opus & turn Opus off, not ideal. I do not use Opus cameras, just Ezdok Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks

PFCS aileron indication

The short "How to's.........." by Josh I believe would be very popular. Short features on all the types of instrument approaches, setting the fms for these etc. I can do all these using the Rxp GNS 530 but the fms is all new ground. I'm sure I'm not alone See "how to do it" then put it into practice in the line flights would be great value

Question - would you like to see the 'original' flight deck tour?
"..........Give me a week or two as it's full of bloopers and I'm sure you don't want to hear Josh and me laughing at the pushback tug driving through the marshaller, who somehow is still alive." Oh yes we do!
