February 21, 200521 yr Just installed Misty Fjords and I'm dedicating the entire night (til mid-night at least) to exploring it. I need a great bush plane though. I narrowed it down the the Real Air Scout or FSDs Porter and I'm stuck. I'm sure I'll end up buyng both sooner or later, but I need one of the two for tonight. I'll probably be using the VC since this is my FIRST departure from the big iron and visibility is a big deal here.Maybe even the Beaver???
February 21, 200521 yr Since it's your first departure from the flying tubes, why not just check out some of the freeware aircraft before jumping in. There is a really sweet bellanca scout by Long Island Classics (LIC) that has a great VC not to mention the freeware Maule package, both payware quality. If you do go the payware route, the porter is great, but a little heavy on the frames. I'd suggest the beaver by Aerosoft, it's my default, and with the tweaks over at their forum and the maule float/water effects, it's a dream!Regards, MichaelKDFWhttp://www.calvirair.com/mcpics/mcdcvabanner.jpgCalVirAir International Best, Michael KDFW
February 21, 200521 yr Author Hi Ohioguy,All of RealAir's addons are first-rate, and the Scout is no exception. Since it has tandem seating, you have virtually unobstructed visibility through more than 180 degrees. It comes in both wheeled and amphibious versions, each with its own custom flight model. Bill Womack's Bear Gulch scenery, while not on the grand scale of Misty Fjords, is very nicely done. The panel looks great, and all systems are modeled. The documentation is complete and error-free... it has a "how to" section and a Pilot's Operating Handbook. Finally, you can't go wrong when Rob Young did the flight modeling. If you've never flown one of his creations, you're in for a real treat! If you've done all your flying in heavies with a tricycle landing gear, RealAir's Scout is a great introduction to the wonderful and fascinating world of taildraggers!Ken
