Thought I would just report I have solved my previous issue of CTD's when accessing menus in P3D V2.2. 

 

As suggested in my post here:

I tried creating a new profile. This didn't solve the problem, it was also suggested I reinstall C++ Redistributable packages and Dot NET updates. Again these did not work.

 

I reloaded by graphics card drivers and the problem appears to have gone away.
