Impressions on Horizon Simulation's VFR scenery?

Featured Replies

I haven't purchased any scenery upgrades for a while, just mesh from FSG and odds and ends to improve default scenery. If you've installed some of this AirPhoto based scenery, what do you think? Would you do it again? I purchased MegaScenery So Cal a couple years ago, and returned it as it looked too out of place versus the default stuff with autogenious installed. Anyway, what do you think now, the stuff looks very good on their site. Also, it the border zone pretty corny, between default and enhanced? Thanks for your opinion.Noel

NoelIMHO you cannot get any more realistic at the current stage of flight simulation development than using photographic scenery. The screenshots at Horizon's website show the effect of photographic scenery very well.As far as I am concerned I do about 99 per cent of my flying in the UK using VFR Photographic and VFR Terrain. Flying anywhere else for which I do not have photographic scenery is just unrealistic. But as they say, "You pays yer money and you takes yer choice".David
