New Queen of the Skies would be nice

Featured Replies

Anyone here close the PMDG devs? I was just wondering, and hoping, for a new Queen of the Skies starring the 748i.  I enjoy the visuals of the 748 add-on to the 744.  I fly it every single time I get on FSX, but would love 748 performance.  I've seen new aircraft come in since I made that purchase years ago. Is there a chance for a stand alone 747-800i to be in the works?

There is a 747-400v2 in the works, it is not an update but a totally new project. I believe it will have the -8i/f, but I don't know for sure.

Also, sign your name or your post will be deleted.

You don't need to be.  There's a nifty feature out there called "search."  It works like Google and can dig up information from the devs themselves:

PMDG 747-400v2.0:
================
I appear to have created a bit of confusion by accident in an earlier post- so the information here replaces any earlier information on the topic:

Work on the 744v2.0 will begin to accelerate during the middle of next week, as we are finally ready to move the NGX/777 code base into the third project to be built on that platform. Vin is still touching up the 777 VC and he will begin working on the 744 just as soon as he is finished with the 777 (which should be very soon!)

The 747-400v2.0 project will initial model the 747-400 (well, duh, Rob... really?) and will then be followed by an expansion pack which adds the 747-8i, along with the required model/cockpit/systems/logic changes that are incorporated into the 747-8i/F fleet.

I'm not going to guess when we will begin previewing this airplane for you because the only way to describe that timeline is to do it in relation to the 777, and I don't want someone to jump all over me if the 744v2.0 preview starts earlier or later than described in relation to the 777... You follow my meaning? Good....

No chance for a 747-800i, though.  It doesn't exist  :wink:

Definitely getting a 747-8i, though.  :P

oops, made a typo before. (747-800i in deed :wacko: ) Glad to hear about the 748i and the 744v2.  I still love my queen even if she is getting long in the tooth, but I know the new versions will be worth the wait.  Thanks for the info.

Reference the signature...I have no clue on making one for my posts.  Read the signature rules and understand my post may be deleted.  I will research it for next time.

May be a stupid question but... here goes: will the price be the same as the current pmdg 747 or a bit closer to the triple seven?
