Descent brings the rain?

I have noticed with the beta that when I'm descending the sim decides to turn the rain on despite using XP stock real world weather.  In airliners it seems to start around 10000 but I have also noticed it in simple prop planes flying vfr at 5000, once I descend the rain begins despite it being clear outside the cockpit and the weather radar is clear.  Anyone else notice this?
