Landing in the belly of the beast.

Featured Replies

Yesterday I received and invite to fly with TanklessHail702. (Known here on AVSIM as Kavinda12345) He was flying in the active volcano area so I joined him there. I told him that you could land in it, and we both did. I took these two shots in the process. When you descend into it, you pass through two overlays that make up the seen. The top layer is the rocky surface with gaps in it to see the lava below, which is the second layer. And then below that is the ground that you land on. Try it sometime if you haven’t.

I took this one just as it was depicting an eruption.

It was fun flying with you Jack! Unfortunately, I had to go since it was getting late here (about 10:30pm) and I was on the computer all day!

I failed my first landing since I got onto the first layer, but it worked second time:

Difficult to take the screenshots whilst trying to take-off! Unfortunately, I couldn't take off, due to the first overlay and crashed at the walls of the crater. It just pressed the aircraft down. Nice challenge to try for yourselves (if you haven't done so yet )!

Until next time Jack,
