gray areas

Recommended Posts

Message OK so I might have done something wrong somewhere along the line but WHERE???!!!. Let me first explain. I have large areas of gray in my scenery. Some cover about 100 square miles (diamond point and strom for example) Another covers the whole New York and surrounding area.(about 2-300 square miles and yet another place is upsyate New York with the scenery hap hazardly gray in smaller patches mixed with good but the latter covering maybe 5-600 square miles. I have installed mega scenery for NY flew it and it was good. then one day it was gray so I took it out but is still gray.I have installed "Lennarts Textures" and I have a slight suspicion it might have something to do with it. I have also found a scenery config tweak somewhere and was messing around with it a little. It to is a possible culprit. If anyone has an original scenery config could you send me one? Thanks for all your help! b.honcoop@insightbb.com

The only time I encountered larger portions of the ground being grayed was after installing photomesh and then switching to "winter" in the time/date dialog. The photomesh looked okay when "summer" was active, but with "winter" set, it overlaid the ground with an ugly, gray carpet...Andreas

hello. I wanted to post a new message to tell you that I found the solution to the gray areas (large gray blocks) that I was having. The problem was that I had activated a landclass folder in the scenery library that shouldn't have been. The sim was trying to read two sets of BGL's creating a conflict. So far everything looks really good. lennarts textures are a great add-on. I do not use the texture switch with all the complicated instructions. There are two downloads for his textures and can be found at(http://www.fsfreeware.com/dcd/General_Textures/). One is the main download(aprox 56 megs) and the other is the update. Both are necesary.
