June 14, 201411 yr I am running FSX and have the following problem. Whenever I am using the GPS and I try to use the simulation rate at 2X it always reverts back to normal speed. If I don't use the GPS this doesn't happen. Any suggestions?
June 17, 201411 yr If I don't use the GPS this doesn't happen. Any suggestions? I see this is your first post here on AVSIM even though you have been here for a little over 3 years. That's great! Welcome! I tried to replicate your issue and had no problem. I tried with the GPS open then turning up the simulation rate then tried it with the sim rate at 2x's and then opened up the GPS and still no issues. I'm thinking this could be a problem with your User Access Controls. Make sure they are turned off. Also, when you start up FSX, make sure you open it with Administrative Rights. If that does not work, then there must be something wrong with your installation. Hope this helps! Best regards, Jim Young | AVSIM Online! - Simming's Premier Resource! Best regards, Thanks for the reply - I will try your suggestions, however, thinking probably a glitch in installing and uninstalling different FSX software over time. I was kind of dreading the reinstall and wanted to check if anyone had any suggestions first. Thanks for the help will post if I find a solution.
June 30, 201411 yr Author Just as a follow up to anyone else who might have this problem. It turned out to be some kind of conflict with radar contact - I only had this sim rate problem when radar contact was running. Tried uninstall of RC and resintall but this did not fix the problem. Uninstalled FSX and RC and reinstalled both and everything seems to be working fine.
