June 21, 201411 yr Hello Dear AVSIM community It appear somehow that i can not create a topic in the pmdg forum. I have been using the PMDG 747-400 on FS9 in Windows XP for a long time now and i just got also a nice keyboard to use in my sim. I face a problem that when I try to input the R4 key ont the KEYBD activated FMC via the F10 key, it does not work. the F10 key seams to simply bring out the menu tab in FS. In fact the F10 key is a "General keyboard shortcuts" (see http://support.microsoft.com/kb/301583#method6 ). I would like to know: is there a fix or a know work around ? every single key work PERFECTLY but that one. Thanks in advance. Jean-Sébastien Paquetairhighway.info

June 21, 201411 yr Author Change the F10 key in FS9 settings so that it is not asigned to anything. By default it is the "kneeboard" thank you for trying, again my F10 is currently not assigned to anything. The thing is that in windows F10 highlight the menu bar. In the PMDG 747 for FS9 the fmc side button (LSK1 to 6 & RSK1 to 6) are hard coded to be F1 to F12 when the KEYBD mode is on. every single Fkeys work except the F10 one since it pop the FS9 menu bar. I have googled the topic and im certainly not the only one facing that proble. I so wish someone has found a work around. Thanks
June 21, 201411 yr I see, so its more a windows setting than a FS9 setting. Can't help further I am afraid. Peter Schluter
June 22, 201411 yr Author I see, so its more a windows setting than a FS9 setting. Can't help further I am afraid. I agree and again thank you for trying to help me and anyone that have or will have that problem. That beeing said I see it more like a design error. Unless anyone tell me im on FS9 with PMDG 747-400 on windows XP and I have my F10 key working in the KEYBD activated FMC I will keep on thinking that this is a thing that they just never try and will never fix. Seriously, its hard coded and not changable... they could have choosed, lets say, Ctrl+Alt+Fkeys and it would have worked beautifully, ... But no, its hard coded that when KEYBD is on, F1 to F12 are LSK and RSK on FMC... so it is clearly a design error.
