Skymaster from the outside

I've always been one who, in the past, wondered if external views of aircraft were really needed and a waste of sim resources. After all, you can't step outside an aircraft during flight and marvel at the beauriful textures and such.

However, on the ground it's another matter.

I know it's kinda silly and just the little conceit we play out, but it's kinda cool, after a flight and all systems are shut down, to open the door, shift to chase view, watch all the static elements go into place, close the doors, and then take a little walk around the plane.

Say it was real, that this is my real plane, and I've just completed a little jaunt over the mountains of Alaska ... I must say (and I'd never admit to anyone outside the sim community) that there is just this smidgin of the same kind of pride one must feel owning and doing the real thing.

That's what's really cool about this hobby.
