Saitek Multi Panel Trim Wheel

When I turn the wheel that comes on the multipanel, my trim wheen in the VC hardly moves (use in A2A  cessna and Cherokee)

ie I have to keep rolling it for ages to trim up or down.  Is there any way of increasing its movement /speed  or is this how a real trim wheel works?
