July 14, 201411 yr Just went to Fry's electronics and picked up an ASUS M51BC. I stressed to the salesman and showed them the requirements FSX takes. I couldn't even fly at first due to having an invalid product key (called Microsoft got that all fixed) I have 3 add ons all aircraft (carenado c90 and 182T. And the Leonardo maddog). My problem is I'm not very Cpu savvy so config files and tweaking stuff I have no idea what I'm doing. My problem right now is my FSX crashes (fsx unexpectedly stopped working message) I also noticed whenever I select the maddog on the free flight screen sound effects go off (co-pilot voice, ap disengage alarm) Specs: Asus M51BC-US007S FX6300 8GB HDD/SSD: 500G SATA3 WINDOWS 8 Is my computer good enough? I'm getting on average 20fps but its got as low as 12
July 14, 201411 yr I'd suggest following either Word Not Allowed or Nick_N's guide, you can find them searching Google. Nick_N has a step by step Bible on how to do everything. http://www.simforums.com/forums/the-fsx-computer-system-the-bible-by-nickn_topic46211.html Robert Stein
July 14, 201411 yr If the 6300 is a black edition it wil overclock to 4.6 gig. still not as good as intel but will help. I had one before I jumped ship. FSX likes speed, CPU speed. You only need to change the CPU multiplier and CPU volts as needed.
