X-Plane 10, the modern 64-bit desktop flight simulator from Laminar Research,creators of the X-Plane franchise, has made its debut as a digital download on the popular Steam platform. On the first day of its release X-Plane skyrocketed to the number #7 on the Top-Seller list in Steams USA store and to number #5 in the German Steam store. X-Plane 10 was recently green-lighted by Steam and also received top-ratings when voted on by Steam users for consideration for inclusion in their product offerings.

Steam, developed by Valve Corporation, has become the premiere portal for distributing games and other media related products over the internet. Steam has a huge base of over 60 million customers, as well as cloud-saving, user groups,and other community-based activities. With the introduction of X-Plane 10 on Steam, the desktop version of the product is now available for digital download to the entire customer base of Steam users.
The version of X-Plane 10 on Steam is the full X-Plane 10 Global Edition that has been available up until now only on DVD.
