You cannot control LOD RADIUS on Prepar3d V2 - Blurry scenery

To the people who don´t know yet, on the new Prepar3d V2, you simply don´t have the parameter LOD RADIUS which made miracles, like

sharp photoreal scenery look. LM changed the code, so that we cannot change it. As a consequence, photo scenery looks terribly blurry at a very near distance.

In all cases I tested, FSX with photorealistic scenery is extremely better. You may try MSE and see how it is bad...

I beg to differ. I get exceptional quality of graphics with the MSE photoscenery in P3DV2. I set my LOD_Radius (under TERRAIN) to 6.5. This is now the max setting for LOD_Radius in P3DV2 settings. In FSX the max setting was 4.5 unless you went into the config and changed it to 6.5.

 

To fix the blurries in FSX and P3DV2, simply change the zoom factor for wing view and spot view to 40% as suggested by the developers as it provides a more realistic view from about 2500 feet and above.

Hello, Firehawk44, in FSX you can set Load Radius to even 15 ( I currently use 9 and it´s quite good ). On photoreal scenery, the more, the better. I don´t like to see blurry textures. I´ll post some pictures from FSX on Lod Radius 8 and P3D V2 with LR 6.5 which we can´t change on Configuration file.
