August 25, 201411 yr I am having problems with getting the latest runway configurations for FSDreamteam's O'Hare and LatinVFR's Miami to show up in the runway display of Radar Contact 4.3. I am using FS9. The "GO TO AIRPORT" selection in FS9 shows the runways that are in the latest AFCADs for each. When I update the runway database for Radar Contact, it does not seem to detect these AFCAD data. The runway log from Make Runways has the default airport information (AP*.bgl) from 2003. Any assistance is appreciated.
August 25, 201411 yr First, make sure you are running the latest makerwys from: http://forum.simflight.com/topic/66136-useful-additional-programs/ There are different procedures if RC is on the same PC as FS or if it is on a networked client PC to an FS host via WideFS. First, you should have the shortcut to RC set to run as admin. If Win 7 right click on the RC shortcut. Click properties. Enable this first run as admin. Click Advanced. Also enable run as admin here. Click OK to go back to the first Window. Click Apply. Click OK. For the same PC be sure have the correct path when queried by RC rebuild procedure. Answer NO to the Wide FS prompt. For a networked client you first must run makerwys.exe directly in your FS folder. Next start RC and put in the network path to FS. Answer YES to the WideFS question. Now to check if makerws saw you add-on and if it had the correct priority open in your FS folder in Wordpad (it is a huge file) runways.txt. Search for Airport KMIA. The first entry will be default. Repeat the search. The next entry will be a deletion section. note the path to the add-on. Repeat the search. You should find a section with runway details, etc. and check the folder-path it used. Repeat the search until no more entries can be found. The last entry should point to your desired KMIA afcad type file with runway descriptions. The last entry has the priority. If OK this far open r5.csv with wordpad, not any spreadsheet, in your FS folder. Search for KMIA. Look at all of its runway rows and see if the additional runways are there per your afcad. Is so, go to the rcv4 or rcv4x \data folder. Open r4.csv and perform the same KMIA search examining all of the runway rows to see if r5.csv was copied and renamed to r4.csv in the rcv4x\data folder. When you ran the RC rebuild make sure you answered OK when prompted by the several dialogs. That last one is rebuilt a4.csv. OK that and wait a few seconds after RC closes to be sure all updates have been written to disk. Keep us informed. Hope this helps.
August 27, 201411 yr Author I solved the problem. I reinstalled the two sceneries and recompiled the airports and runways. Correct runways are showing.
