Degrading FSMark11 scores with DX10

Recommended Posts

When I setup my computer in DX9 I used the FSmark11 benchmark software in the Avsim library to test the initial virgin build without addons and found it to be a very useful tool. As I installed addons I continued to use it to compare the performance impacts of each addon I installed. After I purchased the DX10 fixer I attempted to use it to compare peformance with DX9 but am experiencing degrading performance scores with every run I perform.

To be more specific, with DX9 your first run of a test scenario in FSMARK11 is usually about 5 FPS less than runs after that. To compensate for this, the recommended procedure is to ignore the first run and average the next three.

With DX10 every repeated flight I do of a test scenario has a lower FPS score than the previous one, losing about 0.5 FPS per run. Has anyone else experienced this? I'm trying to determine if I this is normal for DX10 or if I have a messed up system.

Thanks,

Ted

Stop staring at FPS it will only wreck your life. If FSX is smooth and looks good than be happy. Besides worrying abt 0.5 FPS is an issue, lots of things can casue that variation.
