September 6, 201411 yr I upgraded from v2.0 to 2.3 and one thing I noticed is that shadows of vegetations and buildings flicker terribly, unless I'm like only 100 feet above the ground. I can only reduce or largely eliminate the flickering by setting shadow quality to Ultra, but that of course kills my fps. I'm using 337.88 driver on 780ti, could this be a driver issue? Otherwise I can't understand why even under High shadow setting shadows still flicker so badly, making shadows really hard to see and annoying. 9950X3D / 64GB / RTX5090 / Pimax Crystal Light / Win11
September 6, 201411 yr Author this is really puzzling. which shadow quality you're using? My graphics settings are 8xMSAA, 16x texture filtering, etc. Cloud and terrain shadows are solid, just tree and building shadows flicker like hell below Ultra settings. 9950X3D / 64GB / RTX5090 / Pimax Crystal Light / Win11
September 6, 201411 yr Author Ok, problem solved. I need to set terrain shadow draw distance to 0, then tree and building shadows stop flickering and become solid. Of course this effectively disables terrain shadows. Probably this is the terrain shadow bug LM is fixing? 9950X3D / 64GB / RTX5090 / Pimax Crystal Light / Win11
