Final approach problem

Featured Replies

Hi everyone!

I have a problem with the ils approach: ils pointers and "diamon" don't appear and i'm not able to do the approach.Sometimes LOC button illuminates but the localizer diamon does't appear and  the APP mode doesn't work. The ils FREQ and the curse are correct .

Any ideas of what it could be?

 Regards.

Thank you.

The scenery in FSX is over a decade old.  Unless it's an updated bgl for the airport, the ILS might not be in the sim.

Whenever you notice that the ILS data isn't showing up in the plane, the first thing to do is bring up the FSX Map (ALT > World > Map...) and check to see if it lists an ILS for the airport (it will look like a green arrow on the map).  Most likely, it won't, so you can search online to find updated scenery.  Here at AVSIM, they have a section specifically for "AFCAD" files.  A guy named Ray Smith has created a whole bunch of them.  They're not perfect or pretty, but they're definitely an upgrade from the default scenery.

Instructions on "installing" those files is usually in the .ZIP that you download it in, but it's really as simple as dropping it in your Add On Scenery folder in your FSX directory.
