Whether to buy new FSX and Accelerator?

Featured Replies

I originally purchased FSX and the Accelerator pack in 2006. Since then I am using a new computer and want to put FSX onto it. I notice on the MS web site that there is a download dated 2013. My understanding was that the original development team has been disbanded and that no new versions would be released. Hence, my confusion as to whether I should use my original discs or purchased new. Any enlightenment would be appreciated.

The latest version of FSX is SP2 which is built into Acceleration already, IE you have purchased Acceleration and that comes with the latest version. The activation servers are still active despite the team disbanding so fire up your current discs and you are good to go, no need to purchase anything new.

Thanks for the clarification. I'll proceed with my current discs.
