Upgrade question

Hi guys,

I am thinking about upgrading my spec to:

I7-2600K overclcoked to ~4.5 GHz

EVGA Z77FTW 1155 Motherboard

Kingston 4x4GB DDR3 1600Mhz HyperX Blu Dual Channel CL9-9-9-27

and CPU water cooler.

Currently i am runnng with :

I5-750 overclocked to 4 GHz

Asus P7P55 motherboard

2X2GB G.Skill F12700

GPU-Asus GTX 560 TI

Would i see some improvement over my current spec or my GPU will limit the performance?

The sandy CPU is a very good processor, but if you are going to upgrade, why would you go to a already obsolete generation? (Just curious).

As far as your ram is concerned, I would go with 2x8 rather than 4x4, apparently more stable.

From an economical point of view I see your point. As long as the used CPU etc is sound, you can't go wrong with a 2600k/2500k, they are great processors in my opinion. I have two rigs, one of which is a 2600k setup that I use for my other passion; F1 racing simulation and it still performs very nicely.
