fsx reinstall going wrong

Featured Replies

hey people

Ive tryed to reinstall fsx a few times now to a new directory, and everytime I try its never seems to uninstall properly, so when I go to reinstall its still sees the old program files X86 instalation and will ALWAYS install to there and sometimes even half to there and the rest to the new directory Ive told it to! Does anyone know why this is and if there is a way for me to get around (uninstall ALL they 3billion files compleatly without a clean Win 7 reinstall) it or move fsx to my ssd once ive installed fsx to its usual bad spot?

its driving me crazy(as Windows and FSX always does), and have had to move files the last time I tryed just to get it to work again.

I don't know if that will help, but I would suggest the following:

Uninstall FSX once more using the uninstall routine, restart your computer and browse to the directories FSX might have left traces (e.g. the Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Games\MSFSX, Users\<You>\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\FSX, the directory where FSX seems to have installed only partially) and manually remove all the files that are left over from the old installation. It is important that you use the uninstaller prior to the manual removal!

Then install FSX again, hopefully everything is normal then.

Best regards,

Florian

I will give it a try and see what happens, many thanks. Hoping I can avoid having to reinstall Windows to solve it.
