Its crazy, ive filled about 40 GB back up so far! But I must admit, im now getting about 16-23fps in a pmdg 737, as long as I keep my Ai sliders down to about 15%, ( enough not to be alone). Im much happier with fsx, and once I get my SSD ill be very happy.

Ok so I did not get my pc sorted like I planned, Ive cleared out about 250 GB off my HDD, got fsx and everything related to it off and did a fresh install, and was strict on myself on what to add( dont use it atleast once a week, gone!). Fsx is performing like it should be on my system. got my settings med to high, UK2000-heathrow, PO 747 and about 20-23fps (not the 4-7 fps before!) so it is definatly due to PC being over full and fsx haveing to much junk loaded into it!

thanks yorgosGK I think I will defenatly get an SSD then. I have to take my PC into the shop I bought if from 9 months ago to get it sorted, there things showing up in device manerger under processors I got a big yellow triangle next to the one and I cant seem to fix it, Win search engine is also no longer working no matter what I try! aswell as I cannot get fsx to install anywhere els exept x86 folder in Win7 , Its not uninstalling all fsx related stuff so, I may just passout and get them to reinstall windows for me( and sneak in an SSD while they at it).

I only run FSX, have not thought of the move to Prepar3D yet. Not sure its worth it? my fsx is about 90-100GB at the moment, not planing on much more, so hope a 120GB SSD would be enough. I just hope that it will also help with getting the fps back to what they used to be. otherwise I am going the LONG way around and do a fresh windows install and go from there and see.

ah dam I was hoping it would go back to what is was when I had nothing but fsx on my pc. Do you have any idea why it could be slower than it used to be? I thought it would be due to HDD just being to loaded with other stuff.

hey people Ive tryed to reinstall fsx a few times now to a new directory, and everytime I try its never seems to uninstall properly, so when I go to reinstall its still sees the old program files X86 instalation and will ALWAYS install to there and sometimes even half to there and the rest to the new directory Ive told it to! Does anyone know why this is and if there is a way for me to get around (uninstall ALL they 3billion files compleatly without a clean Win 7 reinstall) it or move fsx to my ssd once ive installed fsx to its usual bad spot? its driving me crazy(as Windows and FSX always does), and have had to move files the last time I tryed just to get it to work again.

Hey fsx fans I have a question, I bought a new PC about 9 months ago, when it was new and only ran fsx with not to many addons I had pmdg aircraft running at a good enough fps, since then I have filled my 500GB HDD with alot of other stuff, games,programs etc, to where there is now about 90GB free, I have had to stop using PMDG aircraft and even scenery like aerosoft Heathrow etc, as the fps are just to lagy to even land (around 5 to 12fps). I have now had enough and am thinking of buying a 120GB SSD drive just for fsx to run off. Will this help? I Know it improves load times, but will it help to bring the fps back up as its not clawing its was through the HDD with all the added stuff ive now got? My spect are fair enough with Win7 64Bit,Z77 M-power motherboard, Oc system to 4.2, 8Gb gaming ram, 500GB HDD, Nvidia GTX660ti Graphics, added fans and cooling. so its confuesed me as to why I cant run things like PMDG at medium settings, and my only idea is that it could be that my HDD is just to overloaded. thanks for the replys, tooting where can I get the dx10 fixer from, I would like to try that have heard abit about it. I have tryed to oc abit more and i kept getting bluescreen or just pc would turn off( No idea why but will look into that aswel). I am going to get a 120Gig SSD drive added soon and reinstall FSX to that and wee if that helps aswel.

Hey everybody. Please can some one help me out, I have got a new pc, and have been flying around and loving it. Until Youtube hit me home. I checked a few videos out and they where amazin!! And their specs where the same, and in some cases slightly worse than mine!!! My fsx runs well, but not at the level I thought it would. I have done a few .cfg tweeks and theyve helped but still not to what I expected fsx to run at. I get around 50+ fps at high altitude and anywhere around 15-35fps at low altitude. PMDG is a PAIN to even try! My HDD is anbout 100Gig short of full as I run a few other games on my pc aswel, and eddit my photos on here aswe. My fsx slides are set MED-High( need more accurate let me know) I friend sajested I use a seperate ssd drive for FSX, But I have NO idea where to even start with that, I did try installing it to other place exept (x86), But had huge hassles with that aaswel. Any advive would be realy realy appreciated. THANX My specs are: Core i7-3770k @4.3GHz Nvidia GTX660ti Z77 M-Power motherboard 8 GIG Ram 1800(1600??) will recheck. 500Gig hardrive I run: FSX ORBX Global REX essential +overdrive Some flytampa airports
