Cannot install xgauge

Hi, just purchased ASN and loving it, however I am having trouble installing Xgauge. It tells me that there is a problem checking for access rights to my sim aircraft folders. When using explorer, I cannot save the uncheck read only box in my aircraft folder. It appears that I have the old xgauge from a previous version in my gauges folder as when I insert it manually, the old gauge is there. Could someone please explain how to manually uninstall the old xgauge and insert the new one into my gauges folder.
