Putting FSX VCs to FS9 aircraft is - as far as I am aware - not possible, because in FS9 the VC was coded into the exterior model, whereas it's a separate visual model in FSX.

You could try the FSX-native Project Airbus models (also excellent freeware) instead of the IFDG ones, and I believe there are even some files available that are "good to go" for you already, i.e. they already have the default A321 VC merged with the exterior one.

This is correct. PA has everything you want. Do a search here in the library or over at flightsim.
