Dead monitor, need help.

Recommended Posts

Hello guys,

My LG 1680x1050 seems to have died from backlighting failure after 5 years of service. Usually I would not ask for help here as I'd simply find a replacement at the same resolution.

The problem is that the most available resolutions seem to be 1920x1080 and I'm really anxious about getting those..

Because I run DX10 fsx with 4x SGSS antialiasing. I managed to make the frames good in 1680x1050 by lowering draw distance and visibility distance as well as setting my cloud textures to 1024.

The effect was good, the hit was gone. But now I'm afraid if I go up to 1920x1080 I will get much less performance than on 1680x1050 due to the sparse grid AA.

Am I scared for nothing oor is my concern legit?

PC Specs:

i7 2600k @ 4.3 GHz

8 GB DDR3 RAM

GTX 580

I'm sorry if this has been posted already, but the way in which I use my my pc at this moment is going to give me neck pain
