October 1, 201411 yr Screenshots and Flight Sim are great...but I always feel it is a little better when there is a bit more detail given about the reasons for the flight. In the '00's Airwego (virtual airline) had a flight on their schedules called the "Helsinki Red Eye". The aircraft departed Manchester (EGCC) for Helsinki (EFHK) late in the evening for the outbound sector to Helsinki. After the turnaround at Helsinki the aircraft would return to Manchester arriving around 6am. Flight crews would be assigned to the this flight sector for five successive days before returning to more conventional parts of the schedule. With the relaunch of Airwego this flight has returned to the schedule with a few changes. It operates from Bristol (EGGD) and for the moment just once a week but with the same late departure. The skies are still relatively busy on the outbound leg but on the return ATC is very quiet with the odd long haul call sign heard but as your travel west the traffic becomes heavier and you cross South East England which is alive with intercontinental flights arriving at Heathrow and early domestic departures entering the busy skies. Here are a few screenshots of the flight I did yesterday...enjoy... Preparations underway at Gate 27 at EFHK. Lined up and ready to go at Runway 22. The Master Caution light was dealt with before takeoff. It was a low fuel warnwing in Centre Tank#2. It was a uneventful cruise section of the flight at FL370. London Centre cleared our descent. Lining up for approach on runway 09 at Bristol. and after a touch over three hours we are on stand 22! It was a very enjoyable flight and nice to arrive in the dawn light at Bristol!
