October 8, 201411 yr Hello, I hope this is in the right forum, if I've got it wrong please guide me to the right one. I am upgrading from an old Dell duo core that has done it's best in getting me airborne, with satisfactory results (did I hear someone laugh?). I have very basic knowledge of the finer details of PC part specs, and for all my online research I am not much better off. Keeping in my budget, I have configured a system for myself using a recommended local computer shop's online tool. Could you please offer me advice on whether the motherboard, CPU, ram and GPU will work in harmony to give me a better than average FSX experience. (please keep in mind that I have limited space, so I am going for a micro ATX system, also I don't want to overclock anything) Gigabyte GA-H97M-D3H Intel H97mATX LGA1150 motherboard Intel Haswell Core i5 4960 3.50Ghz 6mb LGA1150 Kingston HyperX Beast 8gb (2x4GB) DDR3-1600 CL9 240GB SSD ASUS GTX660-DC20CPH-2GD5 Geforce GTX660 OC 2GB GDDR5 PCI-E3.0 thank you in advance
October 8, 201411 yr According to the laws in the simulation world : everything you buy today expire in 2 years, hardware especially. ALPER S.
October 8, 201411 yr I would change the video card and the cpu to: Intel Xeon E3-1231v3 4x 3.40GHz So.1150 BOX 4096MB Asus GeForce GTX 970 STRIX OC Edition Aktiv PCIe 3.0 x16 (Retail)
October 8, 201411 yr Author it would be nice to upgrade to those, but in my country the price of those would up the total price of the system by 40-50% - well beyond my budget. Thanks
