Simmer friends :)Can I tap your knowledge...yet again!This concerns Des Braban's nice 757/767 soundset.I am not hearing the airconditioner & APU sound in my 757. All the sound files are present and so are the references in the sound.cfg :(But for some reason they will not work...and and Im sure you FS9 airliner-pilots will agree that nothings worse than sitting in your plane with *no* sounds at the gate(until engine start of course).The sounds I do not hear in the sim are:1. 767-aircond12. 767-aircond13. 767-xapu4. 767-xapu1All of the above sounds play just fine in Winamp.Heres the relevant bits from the sound.cfg, could you all pleaaseeeeeeeee have a look and see if you can figure out why the APU & aircon sounds are not being heard? Why should you hear the APU from the cockpit?

This isn't exactly my 'subject' but I'd have expected APU and AC sounds to be gauge driven and not appear in the sound.cfg at all. Don't take this as gospel though, I'm sure someone that knows better will say somethng. Yea u are both right about the APU notbeing heard from the cockpit.Problem is I dont hear it from outside the plane either :( If the engines are off and you switch to external view the plane is dead silent!Funny prob...all the other planes are working good, I've checked everything...I think I shall just re-download the sounds again.I appreciate you guys tryin to help! :)

Guys, just to clarify - the sounds he's referring to are common in most good soundsets these days, usually called 'apuin', 'aircon' or some derivative and are meant to replicate normal avionics noises, cooling fans, aircon packs etc on the flight deck (viewpoint1) and 'xapu' for spot view (viewpoint2) where an apu itself you will agree is most certainly audible.GYRO_SOUND and BOMB_SOUND can be used to produce the internal effects as well. MS does it with the WIND sound for the default 737, but as usual the gurus found a better way.I find them a welcome addition - most flight decks on a/c with a running apu powering systems are not dead silent - unless I'm horribly mistaken, which unbelievably does occur :) . Well I donwloaded and installed the sounds again and guess what.The APU & aircon sounds work! I've compared the old & new sound.cfgs and they are identical....yet the old one would not play the aircon & APU sounds.....http://instagiber.net/smiliesdotcom/contri...Smilie_anim.gif FS9 Sometimes it can just get irritating!I thank you all for your input and I hope someone with a similar problem finds this thread...a simple redownload sorted it all out. Still...one is left wondering just what on earth causes this!
