I never liked the way the roads are placed criss-cross over the land textures, it looks too unrealistic for my taste. Since I'm using FTX Vector, I just uncheck the roads and remove them all. It's still not realistic, of course, I'm left with very few roads, or better, suggestion of roads, but for me the 'annoyance-factor' is gone.

You can easily try it, if you dont like it, you can put them back with the click of a button.

Not to mention the huge fps gain you have when those roads are disabled (traffic or no traffic)
