  1. I was thinking the same thing, but yeah... Sometimes I am that kind of guy. Already posted of their forum, but I think it's time to send in a ticket. Thanks guys!
  2. After installing AS16 and ASCA, the somconnect version wasnt fit for P3Dv3.2.3, so I reinstalled client already, to get AS16 working. I had to update my Geforce driver, so in that process (after installing AS16 and ASCA) I already deleted Shader folder and had P3D create new shaders. But I'll try another client reinstall, see if it helps. Thanks, gents!
  3. I just bought AS16 and ASCA and installed it in P3D v3.3.5 and all seems to work fine, except for the one black cloud right above my head. The skies above Vancouver are pretty clear, at the moment, a white cloud here and there, no sign of rain, no wind, perfect day to fly and then that one, completely black (not dark grey but really black) cloud, like I'm using rubber for fuel. With the aircraft moving, the black color jumps from cloud to cloud, according to which one is right above me and it follows me around this way. What I can do to fix this?
  4. I asume you're talking about the VC GPS. My first thought is that, like with other Carenado aircraft, it will only replace the screen of the GPS, not the whole gauge and you have to adjust the position and size, so it will cover the right space in the frame of the default GPS. It's just a matter of changing the numbers untill it shows up inside the GPS frame and keep adjusting it untill size and position matches. Because it's so time consuming, I never took the effort to do this for an aircraft that is still waiting for so many fixes that will probably never come, so I cant hand you the numbers, but it's just a matter keep trying untill you're there.
  5. First of all, my graphics are really messed up. Anti alliassing doesnt seem to do anything, I've got jagged lines in so many places... And I cant find settings in the menus that change anything about it. Besides that, the colors are extremely oversaturated and intens that it gives me headaches. Since I read about this from more players, I've been waiting for an update to fix these problems, but still nothing... Second, is there a clear guide about how to set up controls? I can only find a very basic interface that shows basic axes, but I cant find where to go to find the complete function list. What also isnt very helpful, is that the throttle keeps changing it's setting to full power, every 10 seconds and I cant find how to fix this. And my biggest problem, I tried to open a second window to show a panel view on my second monitor and I can open a second VC view, but when I drag it to the second monitor and drag the sides to cover the screen, I only get a black picture, there's nothing showing at all. Some help would be very much appreciated.
  6. Skymaster is very good, it's one of the better Carenado aircraft.
  7. Then it must be July 14, on my birthday. It's important enough for the whole of France to celebrate, so that would be the perfect release date, no doubt
  8. V2.0 is out now, who knows what improvement they've made. I'm going to give it another try and see how far they got.
  9. No, you can just install your new package and it should be put at the right position in your scenery library
  10. It's a simple Detail1.bmp file, one for summer and one for winter and it does exactly as you see on the pictures, on the product page. I'm not installing the package anymore, I just copied the file to my backup disc and when I need it I copy it to the Prepar3D/texture folder.
  11. I also use Texture Direct and I like it very much. I also have the Soft Clouds pack integrated. REX Essentials will also give you textures, same as REX TD, so you dont need that. I used to use REX Ess for textures and weather, but since I bought ASN, I never looked back. ASN is very straightforward and userfriendly and the weather effects are about the best you can find. REX TD with ASN is a golden combo, in my opinion.
  12. The watermark is always there, but if you dont specifically look for it, you hardly notice it
  13. Texture_max_load, for starts. I dont know what sim you're using, but a 750 card doesnt allow higher settings, in general. Keep your settings low, everything that eats FPS. And every system is different, so you'll have to test what works best for your system, but 4096 textures is very high for a 750 card, better set this to 1024.
  14. ATC is still the same as it was in FSX, so... Not very useful.
  15. First thing I always try is deleting the prepar3d.cfg and when starting the sim, it creates a new one and mostly the sim will complete the startup
  16. You can use the same tutorials, you've already got. Just create a new flightplan and swap the weights, take-off data and route specific data from the exsisting tutorial route, with the data from the new route. The procedures will stay the same, only the waypoints, weights and take-off data will change and you can find those on the flightplan.
  17. This is not the official ORBX forum, I'm not sure if the right people get to read this. Maybe it's a better idea to ask such questions on the ORBX forum.
  18. ASN, no doubt
  19. With exception of a couple of basic cessna, I havent been able to complete one single panel, by lack of gauges, then so much problems with lag and the whole thing doesnt work for so many aircraft I use, like A2A and others... I removed the whole thing from my computer long ago, because I never got anything useful. It's much easier and faster to rebuild a 2D panel in the panel.cfg and it works much better also.
  20. I always do it like this: Set up the calibration for the normal throttle range, go to the buttons page, pull the levers in reverse position and assign as Throttle 1 (or 2) Decrease and check repeat while held, now set the levers back to the detend position and assign Throttle 1 (or 2) Cut and you're done. This always worked fine for me.
  21. +1 for the Airline2Sim videos. Very good lessons from a real life Q400 pilot, this really got me going with the Q400
  22. Been trying to get FSX to work for over 2 years, with help from dozens of people, including from Microsoft, but then I moved to P3D I've been flying every day, no way I would ever spend any more time on FSX, not now, not ever!
  23. There is a P3D version of Pilot's FS Global2010, which has a dedicated installer, but I've seen quite a few problem areas, when it comes to elevation. There's also a specific version to work with FTX Global. Lately, I've been using FreeMeshX (you can find their stuff in the freeware forum). Lot of places are much more detailed than FSG2010, especially in flat landscapes there's a lot more going on, but it doesnt have any isntaller at all. Still, it's very easy to install, just copy the files to any drive and add the area folders in the scenery library, that's it. And I must say, so far I havent seen any elevation problems yet... Best thing is, it's free, so you can buy yourself a nice aircraft instead.
  24. Depends a bit of the flight style, low&slow vs Long(er) hall... First of all, my pretty common base-pack: ORBX Global/Vector/OpenLC, ASN, REX TD/SC. This is an absolute must for me to have. But I think that if I would just buy a single addon, it would be an aircraft (that's what it's all about, after all). I would have to say the Majestic Q400 Pro, but past few weeks some other cutie has been increasingly gaining my affection, which makes this question harder to answer. And that would be the FSL Concorde X.
  25. Sorry, I forgot to mention, I'm using P3Dv3.1. I've the FSX SP1 and 2 Simconnect installed from the redist folder, indeed. I just cant remember seeing the list of Simconnect programs without the ESP Simconnect at the top of the list... I must have a picture in my head from quite some time ago, I guess. But good to know I dont have to worry about it. Thanks, Pete!
