May 11, 201511 yr I had everything set up for networking on client according to manual but could not get it to connect. After several days of trying the same steps over and over I finally looked in the windows firewall settings (control panel). Clicked on "allow a program or feature through windows firewall" and SlxServer was not selected under name column, although it was selected under Home/Work (Private) network. I had to use change setting at top of screen before I could select SlxServer. Slx connected immediately on the client once this was selected. Windows 7 64-bit on both computers. I could have saved a lot of time if I had just checked the windows firewall settings in control panel. Hope this might help for someone else. This is a great program especially when you can get it to run on a client PC.
