Good day fellow flight simmers..

I use ASN with FSX and the PMDG 777-200...I have noticed when entering a storm with heavy lightening and rain or hail against the windshield, I don't hear any noises of rain or lighteneing. Complete silence..I only see the effects..is it normal to not hear the external sounds, or is there a setiing that needs to be adjusted? I have read through the manual but couldn't find reference to adjustment of external noises within the sim...I do have sounds enabled in the menu and my default audio device is correct..
