A320 Sounds

Featured Replies

In the library today there is a new soundset for the A320 with CFM engines (file name is a320cfmsnds.zip). I would like to know how close is this to the real ones? Does the A320 "whine" sound happen through out the whole flight (like this download has)? Or does the "whine" sound go away when the engines power down (like I heard with other downloads)? I don't know which one is right. I never heard a real A320 in flight so I don't know which ones are right.

I have that A320 soundset and on takeoff you hear a loud growl...that rrrrrrrrrr. This reduces slightly when you power back but it does stay there even in cruise. I am no expert but I have flown on A320s and the growl *is* there on takeoff but I did not detect it in cruise. So I just used Window's Record function and lowered the volume of the growl...and now its all good :)There have been many lively threads on Avsim regarding sound - the reason being its different to each and every one of us. Someone else might say the growl is present througout flight for example. I tailor my sounds according to what I recall on flights I have taken in real-life.For example I have increased the bass on the 777's wind & engine noise because sitting in the last few rows on a real flight I noted a bass rhumble! Its a great A320 soundset. Just because the growl is there in cruise does not make the sound wrong! Remember that you can fiddle with it to make it just the way *you* like it :)
