November 11, 201411 yr Hello! I just bought this pc. It´s a very good pc, and I get 60 fps on every game i play, except FSX... I have installed fsx on the /C drive, the same drive as the OS. The addons i use in game is: Pmdg 737ngx Active sky next ezdoc aivlasoft EFB When i`m on the ground, it lags alot... But when i get airborne, it doesn´t lag at all.. Is this because FSX and OS is on the same drive? Or do i have to overclock the cpu? the cpu is a intel core i7-477k 3.5 GHz. November 11, 201411 yr What do you consider "low fps." Here in the world of FSX, 20fps is considered good The NGX and ASN are the primary causes of your low framerate. You will also have to tweak your fsx config file if you haven't already. Here is a great website for tweaking your config file if you're too lazy to tweak it yourself: http://www.venetubo.com/fsx.html Philip LaBianca _____________________ "I think, therefore I am."
November 11, 201411 yr You have my sympathy but welcome to the world of Flight Sim. Personally I am thinking of taking a brake from it. There are so many other enjoyable things that I could be doing with this Top shelf computer that I have without any of the FS frustration.
November 11, 201411 yr Did you tweak the cfg file? And do you have the two Service Packs? Philip LaBianca _____________________ "I think, therefore I am."
November 11, 201411 yr 10-12 fps.. It really lags when im on a airport.. (no addon airport) Its a rude awakening isn't it? based on the time that you have been a member of this Forum is it safe to assume that you are new to FSX and FS in general? There is a lot to learn and hindsight being 20/20 I would say that had I know from the beginning what was involved I would have walk away. Based on the specs you listed the best advice I can give you for FSX is to uninstall it reinstall it on another drive. Get ride of on of the GTX 780's Its doing you know good at all unless you are using more than one monitor. You have virtually the exact hardware NickN recommend on Simforums.com Go over there and read the i7 4770K at 4.8ghz thread and his FSX Bible. You have exactly the right hardware for those guides. http://www.simforums.com/forums/haswell-48ghz-on-air-building-a-haswell-system_topic46180.html http://www.simforums.com/forums/the-fsx-computer-system-the-bible-by-nickn_topic46211.html http://www.simforums.com/forums/drivers-nv-inspector-fsxcfg-complete-guide_topic36586.html http://www.simforums.com/forums/bios-and-video-driver-updates_topic48093.html There is a guide on this forum and sorry to direct you somewhere else bit the above 4 links are hands down the best FSX education on the face of the planet earth! You have along road ahead and that's the best advice you are going to get!
