Hi guys,I'm going crazy. My sim won't start. I didn't install anything, change anything. I simply shut the thing down yesterday and now it won't start showing fe.dll as the culprit. So far I renamed the fs9.cfg, disabled all add-on dlls, removed all AFACD files, loaded an older scenery.cfg, restored the system to an older date, overwrote all dlls with the original versions I have from a clean install on a 2nd computer. Nothing seems to help.A reinstall is out of the question. It will take me month to have it running again as it was. I'd rather look for a new hobby.Any ideas?Alex

Did you reinstall fresh copy of FS9? Not saying that you have to delete old installation. Just rename the folder of it, and install 2nd FS9 on it's place. Of course, cleaning registry settings and completely deleting all FS9 relevant data (except previous original FS9 folder) might help.If it WAS working, then it will work again. You just have to find out *why* -> in computer world, there is always a reason and there is always a solution.Did you install any new drivers, software, addons since the last versions that was working and the one that was not. Anything changed???

Ok guys, took me an hour tonight but I found it. I fired the sim up in safe mode and it worked. So I suspected some kind of a video problem. The only thing I had changed was the clouds. I am using FSSkyWorld 2004 since it was released and whenever I fire up the sim I load a random cloud set. I have render to texture off and I am using the 32bitters. Some DXT3 bmp or a corrupt texture file must have found its way in one of the SkyWorld folders. I restored the original textures et voila. What seems funny though is that it kept the sim from even starting. I would have suspected that it would crash when it loads the weather. In that case I would have found the error immediately.Alex

FS9 works in mysterious ways! Not always understandable.

How did you reload the original textures? Or since I was bad and didn't save the original files, am I going to have to reinstall FS? I'm having the same problem, and of course, it happened the first time I didn't make a backup file of what I was replacing... simply stupid on me.
