December 3, 201411 yr hello, FSX XP Linda Saitek x45 + + MCP Combo VRinsight. Everything was ok for several months But yesterday I tried to set the buttons MCP with Linda, but I think have made a mistake Since I have my joystick ok but nothing MCP command in Fsx. I put a plane to be on Microsoft but not always nothing. I guess this is the com between linda - combo that silliness. In Linda I have: - Setting: * Joysticks => everything is ok * VRinsight MCP Combo => device enabled - com port asigned - Fsuipc setup done * FSX / FSUIPC => Fsuipc files found - Fsuipc unknow release (I have Version supplied by CIP) - Fen ^ be primary with FSX Default for the selection of aircraft in orange and the small sync in FSX orange also - Linda told me console "[E] LUA.0: ---> ERROR :: Could not open MCP Combo port!" Okay. You did not found the right port. The doc, he notes "installs the serialFP and note the port" Actually, reinstalls the serialFP I had fired since Linda. I run it gives me serialFP port 13. With the serial FP is OK. MCP works. I uninstall the serialFP so that there is no conflict. I re-installed Linda and Linda, and put him wearing 13 => always same. I tried all the suggested ports (1 to 32 without the 20, why ??) Nothing I actually do according to the error message is no message but still no active mode of the MCP. If you can give me a helping hand thank you Sorry to my english, i prefer french !!! Christian PICARD - FCY-ISA I precise that I have version 4.827 FSUIPC (free)
December 3, 201411 yr Hi Christian Sorry to hear that you are experiencing problems. Your English is far superior to my non existent French. A couple of points first: 1. Are you using the original MCP panel? Not the Combo II Boeing. 2. You need a fully licenced (paid) version of FSUIPC. Version 4.937 is the latest. 3. Check your Windows Device Manager and COM/LPT ports to check the COM Port your MCP is connected as. 4. Go to Settings / MCP Settings in LINDAand set the COM Port to the one found at (3). 5. What version of LINDA are you using? There have been problems reported with the MCP with LINDA 2.5. You should use LINDA 1.13 if you still have problems. Let me know how you get on. December 3, 201411 yr Author 1. Are you using the original MCP panel? Not the Combo II Boeing. * MCP panel 2. You need a fully licenced (paid) version of FSUIPC. Version 4.937 is the latest. * now version 4.937 3. Check your Windows Device Manager and COM/LPT ports to check the COM Port your MCP is connected as. * port 23 4. Go to Settings / MCP Settings in LINDAand set the COM Port to the one found at (3). * ok but now FSUIPC config in Linda say "fsuipc4.ini : something is wrong and x=com22 not found" why 22 i have 23 in com port !!! 5. What version of LINDA are you using? There have been problems reported with the MCP with LINDA 2.5. You should use LINDA 1.13 if you still have problems. * it is linda 1.13 Thanks
December 3, 201411 yr Author I tried with version 2.3. Idem. The problem seems to come from communication dow FSUIPC and linda. By installing the MCP window XP has put the port 23. Why 23 ?? Because in the device manager to the USB port item I have only 3 lines including reductions on USB Serial Port with the number 23. When I go to properties / port parameter / forward, I see note port 23 but I have a dropdown list that said port 1 to port 23 are in use !! Bizarre because I have a printer joystick + 1 + 1 + 1 keyboard speaker and MCPCombo. 23 ports for 4 devices ?? I dare not force the port 3 for MCPCombo because I do not know if this port said in use is really busy ?? What about you?
December 3, 201411 yr Hi Eliott3 It sounds that your system has simply filled up your useable COM ports. This is a normal problem with Windows. I suggest you try the following: 1. Open Device Manager. 2. Select menu view/show hidden devices (I don't know what that would be in French). 3. Click on arrow beside Ports (COM & LPT). 4. You should see a list of the all the com ports and printers that have been connected to you PC. Those not in use (hidden) will have a lighter/fainter icon. 5. Identify those you do not use and uninstall (by right clicking). 6. Find your MCP com port and change its number to a lower port number (for example 3 or 4). To do this right click on the com port, open properties, port settings, advanced. 7. Start LINDA. 8. Go to the Settings page / MCP Settings. 9. Select MCP and the new com port and click save. 10. Make sure that Everything is OK (green). That should get you sorted. December 6, 201411 yr Author hello, Thank you for interresser to my problem. Following your advice I put the MCP Combo on port COM3 via the device manager window in XP. I checked launching serialFP and this is COM3 that appears. The MCP Combo in FSX with serialFP works well for generic planes. I uninstalled the sérialFP to avoid any kind of conflict. I launched FSX (default microsoft plane) with Linda automatically launch. Quick little window in FSX "Linda is start" In Linda => default FSX and FSX Sync orange Window setup MCP Combo: • MCP combo setting with the type: MCP1 (orig.) And COM port: COM3 (grayed save) • FSUIPC config: 4937 Version ok in green and Fsuipc4.ini: looking good in green. (Ok VRinsight ° found in green and finally x = COM3 found, ok green Setting window • Joystick Saitek X45 • VRinsight MCP Combo Device with disabled! red, and Com Port Assigned FSUIPC setupdone • FSX / configs with FSUIPC FSUIPC FSUIPC version of files found and is okay But the MCP is inactive in FSX (joystick is OK) Here are the details of Linda Console after launch FSX and details of my FSUIPC4.ini file LINDA CONSOLE ********* FSUIPC4, Version 4.937 by Pete Dowson ********* Reading options from "D:\FsX\Modules\FSUIPC4.ini" Running inside FSX Module base=0C270000 User Name="Michel Manelphe" User Addr="[email protected]" FSUIPC4 Key is provided WideFS7 Key is provided System time = 06/12/2014 18:59:38 FLT UNC path = "C:\Documents and Settings\Picard.PC-4034D3365E43\Mes documents\Fichiers Flight Simulator X\" Trying to connect to SimConnect Acc/SP2 Oct07 ... December 6, 201411 yr Hi Eliott3 Thank you sending the Console output. I suggest that you first locate \fsx\modules\fsuipc4.ini and open it in an editor. Search for the [VRInsight] entry and delete all the COM ports except COM3. I would then shutdown FSX and LINDA. The start LINDA followed by FSX. It can take a couple of times for everything to connect and work correctly. I had a similar problem this afternoon when I swapped from using the MCP Airbus to the MCP Boeing. Note: there is no need to send the weather text. Let me know how you get on. December 9, 201411 yr Author Hello. Finally it works and thank you for your help. Here are the manipulations made: - Clean the com ports in XP and MCP allocated to port 3, for example (less than 13 - past that no longer works) - Check that in Fsuipc4.ini there s an entry VRinsight with the port number of the XP window manager (I had 4 with different ports) - Check launching FP Serail that the marked port is the port manager XP - Use only linda 1.0 because linda 2.15 every time I put not found in the setting device. Thank you again for your help
