LINDA 2.5.5 device cannot be open

Featured Replies

I was hoping this update would fix this problem as on this old post ( angeli662) but it didn't :( . what are the chances that would be fixed?

Hi Angeli662

I did put a check in for the VID/PID you supplied but a test with another user suggested that these might not work. I have searched through the code to try and pinpoint the cause without any success. I would need to get my hands on these unrecognised devices to track down where the problems lies. Without that I cannot even start. Sorry.

If you you mean my devices the only problem is with the Synaptics driver which is for the LCD/toutch pad on the keyboard.  I have disabled because this is the only way LINDA see my 9  devices this includes  the actually keyboard but as a single button. Is there anything I could get you to help?

if not, is no big I just disable when linda is on  and enable with LINDA is off.

Hi Angeli662

In your case it is the Synaptics touch pad that is being seen as a one-button HID (or joystick) that LINDA is having problems with. From the screen shot you sent it does.not appear to be given a name or description. This may be a clue. If you can fly without it then this is my only advice to you.

Hi Angeli662

I forgot to ask which version of Windows you are using.  I wouldn't be 8.1 would it?

No LINDA is seeing the keyboard as one button.  If I have the Synaptics drive enable LiNDA won't load/detect any hardware. as the screen shot, SWOTOR is the keyboard part which on the LINDA GUI has only one button.

This seems to be a USB/screen issue I think.

I am running Windows 7 Ultimate 64bit.

thanks anyway

Hi Angeli662

Thank you for the tests you did for me last night.  The ‘Device cannot be opened’ errors are being generated by the third-party library routines used by LINDA.  I updated to the latest version yesterday but it does not work with your problem device.  There is nothing more I can do a this time with the LINDA code until the library is updated.  The only way forward I can suggest is to isolate the USB device that is stopping the others working and leave it disconnected.  Not a satisfactory situation I know.  Many thanks for your help.
