Can't Engage AP after EFATO

Featured Replies

Howdy All

I can't seem to get the AP to engage after an Engine Failure After Takeoff. The TAC is working fine with the trim indicator showing an appropriate amount, there doesn't seem to be much rudder required (as it should be) yet I can't get the AP to engage.

Can anyone else?

Ken

Ok, just realised that it will engage after "V1 Cut" but not after "Severe Damge". Is this the same elsewhere?

Merry Christmas everyone,

I tried this just now I had the Autopilot off when the failure activated (Sev damage) and was able to successfully engage and disengage the autopilot.

Thanks - I'll keep playing with it. I know there's something in there which precludes engagement of the AP if the aircraft-simulator is not "in trim", but I don't think that's what is happening. If so it may be a bit overly sensitive. The aircraft AFDS has a similar feature, but the aircraft has to be pretty grossly out of trim in order for the AP to reject engagement.

A minor yoke deflection could also prohibit AP deflection.

A little nullzone in the FSX settings (or yoke driver if you dont use the FSX controls interface) cant hurt.
