Saitek Multi and Switch Panels

Featured Replies

I am interested in purchasing the above Saitek panels and was wondering if they can be cofigured to work with the 777 and ngx.

thanks

Paul

Hi Paul

I've got most of the saitek panels and no unless you use a different non saitek driver they do not work with either the 777 or the ngx. I have the radio panel, the Bip, and autopilot together with the saitek Cessna controls , trim wheel and dual throttle quadrant plus rudder pedals. I have experimented with a full version of fsuipc and an alternative driver called "spad but concluded it was best to remain with the saitek drivers as I also have track ir and the alternative drivers caused my track ir to argue with my Bip. ( back lit information display). Also the trim wheel does not work with the 777 or ngx. Ironically the panels do not fully work with the Airbus X either. Do not let this put you off buying them however, they work great with all Carenado products plus the A2A products and the Majestic Dash 8 Q 400.

I am sure someone out there could get them to work.

I hope this helps

Thanks for the reply Rob.

That said, most Saitek Panel users will install the aforementioned non-Saitek driver (called SPAD) and get excellent results. Compare this to using FSUIPC for your controllers; it's not official FSX, but it is so much more flexible that it is well worth the time, sweat, and (relatively few) frustrations to get it working.

Don't forget that Saitek is only in the market for their hardware; their drivers are pretty basic. They will make it work with their own driver, but aren't interested in supporting a fully reconfigurable setup most hobbyists want. They acknowledge the alternatives and their support department will point the alternatives out, but they don't formally support them because they don't have the time (or budget) to test them.

I think Saitek makes great looking panels at a very affordable price, and as long as you use their own drivers, their service is fine given those constraints. However, I wouldn't want to miss out FSUIPC and SPAD and accept that it's part of my hobby to keep them working.

Hi Paul,

I case you have not seen it yet, you may want to have a look a this tutorial video on how to set Saitek panels up for the T7.

I very recently followed similar instructions by the same guy for the 73 and have achieved near=perfect results.

hope this helps!
