Flight Environment - Problem

Featured Replies

After seeing the good notices about this add-on, I went and bought a copy. Have to say I'm quite impressed with the result - in particular the water and reflections. Frame rates seem good too. However, I have a problem whereby when I go to an outside view I get a very brief flash of white rectangles before the clouds are established. I have quite a high end system, although I do use multiple monitors which affects performance.Anyone else had this - is there a solution.Bud

Hi Bud,I did have a brief problem with white rectangles (artifacts) with my GeForce Ti4200, first it was trying to overclock too much, then it was from a frozen cooling fan on the card causing it to overheat. If you are running an extra monitor you might be pushing the card pretty hard. Do have an extra cooling fan in your case? You can try a larger cooling fan on the graphics card and extra case fan. It could also just be texture loading times causing this brief appearance of artifacts. To check if it is just the texture loading time switch from 2d to spot (yes you see the artifacts this time), switch back to 2d and immediately back to spot (do they show up on the second showing?).Hope this helps,Zane

Hello ZaneMany thanks. I learned a hard lesson a month or so ago about the need for a really cool rig! This is not the problem. I think you are right tho' about texture loading time. Seem to remember a while ago I had a similar problem with ground textures but I made a change to the .cfg file which cured that. Trouble is I'm damned if I can remember what I did !!!Bud

Thanks Jim - That's the one but I've already set this value.Bud
