January 5, 201511 yr I've seen some discussion about the i7-4770 being a good match performance wise for FSX and I would think P3D as well. When I compare my i7-200K specs to it using the Intel Core i7 Comparison Chart, I see very little difference in the numbers. Can someone explain to me what makes one CPU more powerful than another? Is it based on Processor Base Frequency? Process Technology? Supported memory MHz? Thanks! -- tazz

It runs about a 15% faster than the 2000 series clock for clock (at the same frequency) and can handle faster memory, which amounts to another 5% (provided that you actually run faster RAM of course) All in all, not that much faster really. I also have a 2600K and I'm waiting for the next architecture (Skylake) myself to see if it's worth upgrading
