January 5, 201511 yr I didn't have any trouble before reinstalling FSX and using Steve's newest download. I am getting a black prop with the Carenado V35B. Is there a setting in the DXFixer that I am missing. This is the only plane that I have installed where it's happening. Thanks, John John P. January 5, 201511 yr Commercial Member I would suggest that you first turn on missing texture alert. If that doesn't show an issue, then uninstall the libraries and see how it looks in native DX10. My FSX Analysis Blog
January 6, 201511 yr Author Turning on the missing texture alert did nothing. Uninstalling the libraries left me with this. Thanks, John John P. Navara PP ASEL-IA - 1975 Piper Arrow II Owner Complex, HP & Tailwheel endorsements https://twitch.tv/Sim_Dude
January 6, 201511 yr Commercial Member Can you double check that you set missing texture alert correctly? the change in colour from black to blue is exactly what you would expect to see with a missing texture, so I am surprised you didn't get a popup alert. My FSX Analysis Blog
January 6, 201511 yr Author I will do that tonight when I get home. The odd thing was that the textures worked before I did the FSX reinstall. Thanks, John John P. Navara PP ASEL-IA - 1975 Piper Arrow II Owner Complex, HP & Tailwheel endorsements https://twitch.tv/Sim_Dude
January 6, 201511 yr Author Snuck home over the lunch hour. I have attached a picture of the "Other" settings. I then hit "Apply" and start FSX. No warnings or anything. Thanks, John John P. January 6, 201511 yr Commercial Member You shouldn't have 8 bit Texture Fix selected - that's for testing legacy aircraft prior to converting 8 bit textures with the toolbox. However it wouldn't cause what you see which still looks to me like some missing textures. What I wanted you to do was set ShowMissingTextureAlert=1 in the [sCENERY] section of your fsx.cfg. You can do it by editing the file or alternatively use the fsx.cfg menu in the DX10Toolbox.exe program which you can find in the directory you installed DX10SF into. My FSX Analysis Blog
January 6, 201511 yr Author I finally read the manual and it explains in on Page 89. Wrong version of flight sim though. Ok so I remotely connect to my FlightSim box from work and use the DX10Toolbox. It says I need the CARINTERIOR_K.BMP, CARINTERIOR_J.BMP, TEXTPANEL.BMP and several other files. It then dawned on my what I did wrong. In order to cut down on the number of planes that appear when starting FSX I moved several of the derault airplanes and the Carenado V35B without tip tanks to another directory. The files that were needed are in the directory that I moved. Should I leave this entact? ShowMissingTextureAlert=1 Thanks for your help Steve. Great program too and well worth the money. January 6, 201511 yr Commercial Member Hi John I would comment it out but leave it in there as it is useful to be able to remember where it goes in fsx.cfg. If you leave it enabled then you may often find on final approach that a popup appears telling you of some missing texture at the airport! My FSX Analysis Blog
