hi ive got a lil problem with APP hold, basically its getting me to the runway in 1 piece and maintaining the correct rate of descent, but approach hold always gets me about 15 foot or so off the centre line.its in about half of my planes this, mainly boeings, the airbuses get me bang in line with the centre line and maintain a far more perfect approach.am i doing something wrong, is there a way i can change something? i can assure im not making basic errors, im maintaining 150 knots with about 7/10ths flaps, theres no wind either and theres no trim that i ve changed. please help me with this.

Make sure your yaw damper is off when on final. Being on reduces sensitivity.In the aircraft.cfg you'll find references to autopilot and control surface scalars that affect the sensitivities. I'd compare the Airbuss to the Boeing models you are using but these settings are probably very realistic as they stand. Make a backup before editing any aircraft.cfg files so you have a safe copy.Airbusses are "fly by wire" aircraft and depend on computer control of all control surfaces whether by pilot stick input or automatic means through AP/NAV/FMC coupling. Many of the switches in procedures required to be operated by pilots in other aircraft either have warnings given or are automaticly set in the Airbuss. I'd guess by design that the control surface sensitivities are overshoot compensation are taken into account in the computer control system, more so than other aircraft.This all being stated, I'd say 15 feet off center on a runway width designed for large aircraft is very good and I would be satisfied with that. I would guess that meets the requirements for zero visibility cat IIIA approaches.

I have often found even with planes that have been converted to be suitable with FS9, the autopilot parameters in the airfile might need changing as they are often overlooked. As ronzie said, try comparing the aircraft.cfg autopilot settings. You might find an improvement with changing certain settings there. If that doesn't help, the airfile would probably need modifying too. I have had to do this to a few addon planes in FS9 to get them to respond well with the APP setting.

okay i get u. You'd think the people who make the planes would actually test this out before hand though, its gonna be pretty inconvenient if i have to do this every time i wanna do an ILS approach.anyway the plane im trying to do this in is this crappy (but with good textures) VARIG boeing 737-100 or 200, its one of the 2. And i think its meant to be as the plane was when it was first released, so i wudnt really imagine old Brazilian 737's to be up to the standard of even the most average of planes today.i also noticed another bug which hurts my ILS approaches (makes the landings pretty rough) even with no fuel and no payload whatsoever the aircrafts weight (worked out by me ;P) is 88% of its MAX WEIGHT!!anyway thanks every1, p.s what point on the runway should i be touching down? i normally go for within 300 foot from the piano keys on a fairly long runway.
